Job Summary:
​
The Material Handler plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials, tools, and equipment on construction sites. This position involves receiving, storing, and distributing materials, as well as maintaining accurate records of inventory. The Material Handler ensures that all materials are handled efficiently, contributing to the timely completion of projects while adhering to safety protocols. This role works closely with site supervisors, equipment operators, and other team members to meet project demands and maintain a productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Material Management: Receive, store, and track construction materials and supplies, ensuring that everything is properly labeled and stored in designated areas.

Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of all materials, tools, and equipment, conducting regular inventory checks and updating stock levels as needed.

Material Distribution: Transport materials to and from storage areas to construction sites, ensuring they are delivered to the appropriate location in a timely manner.

Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading trucks with materials, tools, and equipment, securing items for safe transport and handling.
​

Site Organization: Keep work areas, storage sites, and material handling equipment clean, organized, and free from hazards.
​

Equipment Handling: Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies to move materials safely and efficiently.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions.

Communication: Work closely with site supervisors, operators, and other personnel to ensure the efficient delivery and handling of materials according to project requirements.

Physical Demands:​ Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying, and engaging in manual labor for extended periods.

Requirements:

Previous experience in material handling, construction, or warehouse operations.

Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment.

Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.

Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain focus to achieve goals independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
